Blog of Podcasting....
Wow!...I do not think that I have ever had a more intimidating experience than having to talk into a microphone and record a podcast for everyone to hear. At first I had no clue how to create a podcast, but after some quick YouTube examples and reading of instructions, I learned how easy and fun creating one can be.
A podcast is basically recording either audio or video in the form of a downloadable MP3. These files can be helpful for many things including: providing a more personal experience, creating a website where people can listen to your point, for people who hate reading, or even the visually impaired.
For this specific assignment, I used the Audacity technology for basic podcasting needs. This program showed me step by step how to create and record the podcast. I then used the Lame MP3 encoder for Windows to convert my podcast into an MP3 file. Both programs were extremely easy to use and quick to learn how to operate.
If I were to give any tips or advice for creating a podcast they would be to just have fun and relax. Most of us have taken speech; this is like speech behind a curtain. When you relax, you naturally perform better at public speaking. I quickly learned this after my first few attempts to create a podcast. Additionally, have fun with it; I mean the career we are all choosing does require public speaking everyday.
